The Leyte- Samar Photography Club (LeySamFoto) joins the National Commission on Culture and Arts (NCCA) in this United Nations- funded global event against poverty. STAND UP, TAKE ACTION, End Poverty NOw! KAUSWAGAN Challenge 2009 is how it is happening in the local scenario. The 2-day event is a showcase of all expressions of the arts as well as the true culture of the Visayas, specifically in our local setting. Visual Arts exhibits will be on display for the duration of the event. Trade booths featuring our local produce and industry will be opened as well. Major attractions would be the showcase of our famous local talents in the music industry such as the Rah Rah Rousers of Palo, Leyte as well as the display of exemplary arts by our local artists, painters and the like. Highlighted activity is the Kauswagan Challenge, an adventure race around the municipality of Palo, Leyte joined in by 25 teams. It implies the acceptance of the challenge to stand up against poverty. LSF handles the OFFICIAL Photo-documentation as well a theme-related photo exhibit at the Palo Municipal Hall. The municipality of PALO co-hosts this big event and that all important programs will be held at the Palo quadrangle and the Palo Municipal Hall.
